Digital Image Processing for Permeability Estimation of Rock Samples

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, the petrographics analysis must be supported by a simple tool in order to reach more quantitative results in the reservoir quality analysis. However, the image processing for permeability estimation cannot replaced the conventional laboratory analysis. The aim of the proposed image analysis is to support the conventional laboratory analysis results and to identify, whether there is a micro-fracture or not.
