Intense hydrocarbon exploration with the objective of Neogene sediments and structural and stratigraphical complexities have provided the impetus to make high resolution Neogene and Quaternary nannoplankton zonation for Indonesian Basins. This is required, especially for precise well section correlation, reservoir scale correlation and petroleum system analysis. This study is mostly based on the nannofossil distribution dataset from North East Java, North West Java, South Sumatera, North Sumatera, Central Sumatera, Kutei, South Sulawesi, Salawati, Bintuni and Waipoga-Waropen Basins, collected from 1990-2010 and analyzed in quantitative method. The integrated data indicates that many potential species can be used to refine standard global scheme of Martini (1971). Nannoplankton biostratigraphically, Neogene ranges from the NN1 to NN18, whilst Quaternary ranges from NN19 to NN21 of Martini zonation (1971). In this study, 21 zones of Martini (1971) can be subdivided into 58 subzones. The subdivision is based on genus of Sphenolithus, Dictyococcites, Clausicoccus, Cyclicargolithus, Discoaster, Ilselithina, Umbilicosphaera, Calcidiscus, Triquetrorhabdulus, Solidopons, Helicosphaera, Catinaster, Minilitha, Amaurolithus, Reticulofenestra, Ceratolithus, Gephyrocapsa, Pseudoemiliania and Emiliania. The success of its application is different among basins, especially depends on lithological composition and depositional environment of sedimentary section, and preservation of the nannoplankton. The subdivision is most applicable for distal marine fine clastic sediments.
