ABSTRACT – The reservoir rock on the Deep Zone in Hand!! Field has generally low porosity or tight reservoir. Furthermore, oil filtrate invasion during drilling and shally reservoir also affect the log reading. So that the Density and Neutron log recorded to deter:mine gas bearing reservoir do not always show a good indication. The salinity of Hand!! reservoir rock is relatively low. Resistivity log sometimes does not exhibit clearly between gas and water bearing reservoir. Log reading on the gas and fresh water bearing reservoir give the same high resistivity. Its make some difficulty to interpret the fluid in the reservoir. Array-Sonic may help to interpret gas bearing reservoir for the condition mentioned above. By processing the waveforms “STC” (Slowness Time Coherence) recorded by Array-Sonic and deriving the Poisson’s Ratio (Vp / Vs technique) of the formation, gas bearing reservoir can be determined.
